The Team Fortress Wiki infiltration!

Hi! -- Cappy 00:30, 23 June 2011 (CDT)

No problems. I want edit wiki on russian :) -- Cappy 08:27, 4 August 2011 (CDT)

I too! We are moderators active users on OTF Wiki... and one moderator :3 - Aperture AI 17:46, 15 August 2011 (CDT)

Hello there, another TF Wiki member here. Just wondering if you would mind changing the text colour from red to black - the red conflicts with red links and makes it difficult to see if there are linked articles that need creating. If you need any help with Mediawiki in general, or getting this place set up - feel free to let me know. A few other TF Wiki staff and members have been joining up too - so you can rely on them too. :) RJackson 19:10, 15 August 2011 (CDT)

I'm from the TF Wiki as well, I can help with translations if needed. Also, could you set up an IRC channel on freenode, that'd be appreciated. Cructo 19:18, 15 August 2011 (CDT)
Another TF wiki member here. I wanted to ask you to please add licensing informations to the "Upload pictures"-section for Valve Software. --Picard 19:58, 15 August 2011 (CDT)

ParserFunctions Done. I'll install Cite in a few have to run for now! Let me know if you have any other suggestions. -- mpcovcd
Cite installed.
If we need infoboxes (such as of TF Wiki), you should add required classes info MediaWiki:Common.css. Are we need infoboxes? - Aperture AI 09:52, 16 August 2011 (CDT)
Also we are currently working on anguage sections. Just for test, please create the page MediaWiki:langlink-ru with content - {{mw-langlink|ru}} - if this will work, we will start other languages. Thanks. - Aperture AI 12:10, 16 August 2011 (CDT)
Done? -- mpcovcd
No. I need a few time to solve this problem. It seems, any edit to Common.css required. P.S.: Dota 2 Wiki/ru - page in testing. - Aperture AI 12:23, 16 August 2011 (CDT)
Problem will be solved in few time. I have a question: can you give me an administrator permissions to create other MediaWiki language pages? - Aperture AI 12:42, 16 August 2011 (CDT)

Custom skin CSS/JS

Could you please enable custom CSS/JS for wiki skins? Thanks. Cructo 10:56, 16 August 2011 (CDT)

Custom scripts works for me. --Daniil 12:11, 16 August 2011 (CDT)
Added it earlier today, forgot to respond to this. -- mpcovcd

Set RBotson to be a bot

Heyo. Could you adjust RBotson's rights so that's he's a bot - and thus doesn't spam up the Recent Changes. RJackson 14:10, 23 August 2011 (CDT)

Get your "Googlejuice" here!

Hayo. Was just checking the TF Wiki's "How can we improve" post as I usually do, turns out WindPower put up some very informative and useful information with regards to increasing our Google rank. I thought it might be worth taking a look at and implementing here, wherever possible. Oh looky, a delicious link to click. RJackson 12:14, 30 August 2011 (CDT)

I liked the part where you left IRC ONE FRICKIN SECOND before IceFrog showed up. Add me on Steam for your secret sauce. RJackson 13:37, 30 September 2011 (CDT)

Looking for Help through this Wiki

Hey there,

This may not be the best way to contact you but the only way I've found aside from the IRC Channel. I've been creating and working on a DOTA 2 Builds website for the past 2-3 months. The site is really coming together and is ready to take on the general public and start taking in some builds. I've hand coded the entire site (no CMS used here!). I hand typed all the heroes, items, skills ect.

I'm hoping to get some help through you guys on getting the word out about my site. I'm having trouble ranking on Google due to the bigs dogs (like dotafire.com) and other sites like it. I however feel mine is easier to use, features no Ads, and has a great Steam Community. We offer raffles and things every day to help get the traffic going.

However through my research I see we really need in-bound and out-bound links and was hoping to score a link off of this Wiki. I notice you link to other sites in your footer and don't see you currently linking to any DOTA Build websites.

Here's the site: DOTA2-Builds.com

The future of this site will feature DOTA Guides to help new players, the learning curve is pretty steep for DOTA. Once we have enough builds in there I really see this site helping many people be more successful in the game.

I can of course return the favor by linking your site off of mine, if needed. Feel free to contact me if you'd like to talk (mroy360@gmail.com)

I look forward to seeing if you can help me in any way!

Thanks, Michael Roy.

Seems like you have already given yourself a link! Enjoy.

Tournament Results

Hi,

I wrote a python script that generates wiki code from the API for any game given the match id. It can find team names, players, heroes, and the winner from the current template. There is the possibility of adding more if the template supports it, such as items, gold, xp (basically the scoreboard at the end of the game). The API doesn't support bans at the moment.

For tournaments (that appear on the watch > tournaments page in the client) you can also grab all the match ids pretty easily, though I believe having a tournament ticket controls your access to the tournaments in the api as well as the client.

I think this could be useful to anyone updating results and help make results more consistant. So I'd be happy to share and take any feedback. It needs a bit of tidying up and probably has a few bugs lurking in there but seems to work reasonably well.

Thanks, Colm

http://www.dota2wiki.com/wiki/Spirit_Breaker

http://www.dota2wiki.com/wiki/Spirit_Breaker doesn't work. Says

Spirit Breaker

The database did not find the text of a page that it should have found, named "Spirit Breaker" .

This is usually caused by following an outdated diff or history link to a page that has been deleted.

If this is not the case, you may have found a bug in the software. Please report this to an administrator, making note of the URL.

Fixed. -RJ 01:08, 6 October 2012 (UTC)

Hello there

Well, hi, im from the transformice wiki... actually, the wiki is having a few bugs, one of them is a database error "A database query syntax error has occurred. This may indicate a bug in the software. The last attempted database query was:

   (SQL query hidden)

from within function "SqlBagOStuff::set". Database returned error "1114: The table 'tfm_objectcache' is full (localhost)"."

could you fix them? please...that wiki cannot die The preceding unsigned comment was added by Obemice (talk) • (contribs) 18:12, March 16, 2013‎

Help building a Wiki for another game community

I just started a new Wiki project over at stadium-wiki.com but lack a lot of information and knowledge about building a proper and good looking wiki. I've taken a lot of inspiration from this glorious wiki page so far, but if you or anyone from the dota2 wiki team would be interested in helping out, please contact me at peterdude at live dot no or add skype skarsteinduden

Thanks in advance, Peter
