Attack Speed Slow: 8/16/24/32

Modifiers
Originally crafted during his ambush for self-defense, the Lich is capable of enchanting others with a formidable defense of frost magic.
- This ability got replaced by Frost Shield in the 7.20 gameplay patch.
- Can be cast on any allied unit, including invulnerable ones, but excluding wards.
- The slow is applied upon a successful hit on a unit with the buff on.
- This means when an attack misses, or is disjointed, the slow is not applied.
- Allied units can attack an ally with the buff on without getting slowed.
- Fully stacks with the Ice Armor from the Ogre Frostmage. This goes for the armor buff and the slow debuff.
- Can be set to autocast.
- When on autocast, Lich automatically casts this spell on an allied hero that is attacked within 1100 radius of Lich.
- This includes attacks from any source, including wards and allied attacks.
- Only heroes and illusions are autocast targets, including spell immune heroes. All other units are ignored by autocast.
- Can interrupt Lich's current order and makes him forget the next queued command. Following queued commands are not forgotten.
- Cannot occur while channeling a spell.
- When choosing the talent, restores health in the form of health regeneration, so it regenerates 3 health in 0.1 second intervals.
- Regenerates a total of 1200 health.
- The regeneration works for buildings as well.
Sacrifice (Pre 7.20)[]
Sacrifice
Ability

Affects
Allied Units / Self
Allied Units / Self
Sacrifices a friendly creep and converts its current hit points into mana for Lich.
Current Health Converted: 55%/70%/85%/100%
It was not unheard of Ethreain to make examples out of those who contested his rule during his human life.
- This ability got replaced by Sinister Gaze in the 7.20 gameplay patch.
- Despite the visual effects, Lich instantly gains the mana from this spell.
- Units killed by Sacrifice do not count as denied. Enemies do not gain any experience from the unit.
- All allied heroes within the experience range share experience from the unit killed by Sacrifice.
- Cannot be cast on ancient creeps (under Chen's control), creep-heroes and summoned units.
- Non-summoned, non-ancient units converted by Holy Persuasion, Enchant, Control or Helm of the Dominator can be targeted.
Decaying Soil (Pre 5.59)[]
Damages enemy units and buildings in its area of effect by a percentage of its base hit points per second for 4 seconds. Ineffective on heroes.
Cast Range: 700
Radius: 225
Max Health as Damage: 4%/8%/12%/16%
Duration: 9/10/11/12
- Decaying Soil only used to affect enemy creeps and structures, but it was changed to deal damage to enemy Heroes during version 5.55.
- Does not deal damage to Ancient creeps.
Glaciar Crush (4.00beta2-Pre 5.10)[]
Crushes the life out of a target unit by encasing in a glaciar of ice. Cost 200 mana per second.
- This ability was replaced by Chain Frost in the 5.10 gameplay patch.
- This ability was never able to be used due to a programming error (Warcraft III triggers). The error was that Lich was not able to cast Glaciar Crush.
- When trying to cast the ability on enemy units/heroes the UI will send a message: You can't cast this ability on enemy heroes.
- When trying to cast the ability on ally units/heroes the UI will send a message: You can't cast this ability on allied heroes.
- Glaciar Crush was supposed to be similar to Crystal Maiden Frostbite, but the effect was channeled.
- Encases an enemy unit in ice, prohibiting movement and attack, while dealing damage and draining lich's mana over time.
- The spell had a minimum mana requirement. So if Lich's mana got down to 125 the channeling will instantly stop.
Soul Steal (Pre 4.00beta2)[]
Rapidly drains large amounts of hit points from a target.
Cast Range: 600
HP draining interval: 0.5
Max Channeled Time: 1
HP drain: 450/550/650
- This ability was replaced by Glaciar Crush in 4.00beta2.
- Drains 225/275/325 health in 0.5 second intervals, starting 0.25 seconds after cast, resulting in up to 2 instances.
- The health restored equals the amount of damage dealt per tick after all reductions.
- This means when a damage instance is reduced (e.g. magic resistance, Refraction, etc), it heals for the reduced amount.
- But this also means that amplifying the damage (e.g. Decrepify), causes it to heal for more.
Freezing Slow (Pre 7.23)[]

Affects
Enemies
Enemies
There is no description for this ability.
- This ability got removed in the 7.23 gameplay patch.
- The ability got unlocked by choosing the left level 25 talent.
- The debuff from successive attacks does not stack, only the duration gets refreshed.
- The attacks first apply their damage, then the debuff.
- Fully stacks with other slows, including all of Lich's abilities.
- Changes the visual appearance of Lich's attack projectiles (same effect as Eye of Skadi).
- Uses default attack projectiles against enemies which cannot be affected.
- Desolator's red projectiles take priority.
