Dota 2 Test, announced February 2nd, 2012, is an experimental version of Dota 2 where upcoming changes are tested before being implemented into Dota 2 - ensuring the stability of Dota 2.[1]
The Dota 2 Test was officially released on February 24th, 2012[2], launching together with the Bane Elemental test patch. While the original schedule was to introduce a new test patch on Thursday and move the patch to the main client a week later, this was changed later to introduce a test patch on Wednesday, and gets moved to the main client the next day if no major issues are found.[3]
