Image changes on Rubick page[edit]

The image of Rubick should be changed to the newer version (the one in the client) and the question mark in the square should be changed to the small picture of Rubick's face. The preceding unsigned comment was added by crashbolt (talk) • (contribs) • Please sign your posts with ~~~~

The images are already live. Clear your browser cache or do a hard-refresh of the page. --Kroocsiogsi 23:32, 24 June 2012 (UTC)

Telekinesis interaction with dead units[edit]

I found that if you cast telekinesis on a unit, which then dies, the drop occurs immediately upon death and nearby units are stunned. This is an interesting little interaction which is rarely mentioned. Should this be added into the notes for that ability?

In what order is the "last spell cast" calculated?[edit]

For instance, it says he can steal toggle abilities such as Rot - which brings up a question: if Pudge casts Dismember, and activates Rot while Dismember is channeling, and Rubick ults Pudge after Dismember has ended, does he steal Rot or Dismember? In other words, are channeled spells set as "last spell cast" when they start, or when they end?

Similarly, are toggles counted as "last spell cast" when turned off (because technically, to turn off Rot, you cast it again)? 74.59.181.98 23:24, 12 December 2012 (UTC)

Trivia[edit]

Like many of the characters in DOTA2, Rubick's backstory contains an homage to other works of fiction and fantasy. Agahnim is the name of the primary antagonist in the first half of Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. Fittingly and obviously, LOZ's incarnation of Agahnim was also a Wizard, one who had enslaved the Royal Family of Hyrule and worked to open the portal to the Dark World and free Ganon, the true antagonist of the game. I believe this is worthy of mention, as the creative team behind DOTA2 found it necessary to liberally use the names of characters, places, and ideas from various works of popular fiction in books, video games, anime, even Magic: the Gathering.

It's not really worth mentioning because it's trivia on the Aghanim's Scepter page. I don't feel that it's worth duplicating on both pages, but there's nothing wrong with doing it either.

Resetting the cooldown[edit]

"There is a small gap between the spell steal and the spell cooldown reset (Resets the spell cooldown before it changes the spell to the stolen spell). Because of this, you can cast a spell 2 times back to back. This can be done by casting the spell, stealing another spell, and in that gap casting the spell again. (This combo is difficult to do, and needs a lot of practice to perform successfully.)" - Is this really possible? I've tried it in a private lobby and never had success. Now this is probably due the "This combo is difficult to do" but I was wondering if maybe it was fixed/changed instead. --151.29.154.107 01:00, 27 June 2014 (UTC)

I agree, I was skeptical when I first let this onto the page, but decided to let it slide because I didn't know how to do it. Looking over it, and failing at it myself for a while, it was most likely fixed and I will remove it. --PimpadelicX (talk) 20:49, 27 June 2014 (UTC)

Pusher? More like Nuker[edit]

I'm pretty sure Rubick's a Nuker, and not a Pusher. 122.164.151.68

What's listed in the article is the in-game categorization that Valve gives the hero. —LingoSalad (talk) 05:23, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
Um.. Isn't the in-game categorization supposed to be Nuker? [to Official Profile]
Or are you talking about someother categorization that I'm not aware of? --122.164.66.183

Rubick unable to steal Asssimilate[edit]

Yep, he cannot steal it. Added. ~~ Bu3ny (talk) 12:49, 30 August 2016 (UTC)

Spell Steal's projectile mechanics[edit]

I was wondering how Spell Steal's projectile exactly works. After testing some stuff, it normally always needs to reach him 1st before he gains the new stolen spell, even when moving far away from the Spell Steal target (e.g. via forced movement). But when I tried it with a Blink Dagger, the whole interaction became weird: When blinking away right after casting Spell Steal, Rubick gained the spell before the projectile could catch him, even though it is stated that the projectile cannot be disjointed under Disjoint. Can anyone help me clarify this interaction and then probably add it to the notes? --Psion1C (talk) 06:06, 28 November 2016 (UTC)

Can melee units attack a lifted unit?[edit]

Please can an administrator clarify on Telekinesis whether melee units can attack the airborne unit while lifted. In my testing, it seems that this is indeed the case, but it is non-obvious (maybe some melee units can't reach a unit in the air). It won't allow me to edit the page since I'm a new user. Some note like: "Both ranged and melee units can attack the lifted unit." would be helpful. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Aviddiviner (talk) • (contribs) • Please sign your posts with ~~~~

Unnecessary. No spell prevents a certain type of unit from attacking a target. This is common knowledge and is the default behavior of spells which move targets, so there is no need to add a note like that. ~~ Bu3ny (talk) 21:55, 3 March 2018 (UTC)
