Adding Steam profiles[edit]

what do you think of adding the steam profiles of the pros to their article? and is that legal/good manners? -U Rec Bighead 18:32, 23 January 2012 (UTC)

Such a list exists here, although it hasn't been updated since January 2013. --Litzsch (talk)

Mistake in Dendi's name[edit]

I don't have an account and can't figure out how to edit, but Dendi's name is "Daniil Ishutin", not "Danylo Ishtin".The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk) • (contribs) 29 June 2013 • Please sign your posts with ~~~~

Automating this page[edit]

What do you think about automating this page? The page as it is now is horribly out of date and hasn't been updated in quiet a while. I would suggest using something like this:

{{#ask: [[Category:Professional Players]]
| ?name#
| ?country#
| ?team#
| sort = country,id
| limit = {{PAGESINCATEGORY:Professional Players}}

The diadvanages would be, that it can't display players that don't have a wiki page yet, that are displayed in the current table, and probably more importantly, this would require a quiet high limit (205 as of now) which might be resource intensive.--Litzsch (talk) 22:11, 25 July 2017 (UTC)

Sure that's fine - Lemoncake(talk) 22:26, 25 July 2017 (UTC)
Also, the problem with players with no wiki page yet can be easily solved by creating a new section on this page exclusively for them. --Psion1C (talk) 09:29, 26 July 2017 (UTC)
So you mean like creating a subpage that contains the current table without the players that have pages? Also should the region subpages be kept or is it ok to just delete them? I feel like they are kind of useless as they are now, since the main table already shows which country a player is from. --Litzsch (talk) 09:50, 26 July 2017 (UTC)
Yea, the region subpages are not that valuable anyway, so I think they can just go for now. I don't mean a subpage for players without a created page yet, just a second non-automated table below the big one with notable players who should have a page created for them. --Psion1C (talk) 09:55, 26 July 2017 (UTC)
Is the page as it is now ok? Also should inactive players be removed from the table (through something like [[team::+]]) --Litzsch (talk) 10:28, 26 July 2017 (UTC)
Seems fine. Dunno if all the players in Professional players#Notable players without article are really notable? Wouldn't exclude inactive players, but maybe retired ones. --Psion1C (talk) 18:10, 26 July 2017 (UTC)
Yeah it's just the old list with all players that have articles removed. Maybe the title should be changed to "Players without an article" or something.
Differentiating between retired and inactive players would be hard to do because as of now we just leave the team parameter empty. Also I'm not really sure what the difference between the two is, since players often don't announce that they retire (or if they do come back anyways *cough* xiao8 *cough*) but just don't join a new team making such a parameter highly speculative imo. --Litzsch (talk) 18:20, 26 July 2017 (UTC)
