Please don't put the rest of his skills in that god awful skillbox. I wish every one of those things would be deleted, they look terrible and the old ones were much better.

Something Missing[edit]

Where's Exort? Redefining history 14:47, 10 November 2011 (UTC)

He can be everything except tank and initiator?[edit]

I agree about not being able to tank, but he can be a very strong initiator, he can use a full powered tornado to hold many enemy heroes for a couple seconds, during which he can then use other spells like meteor, or put an icewall under the enemy heroes while they're in mid-air, making them land on the icewall, this combo can be a very strong battle initiator as it encourages your teammates to start fighting and creates chaos in the enemy lines. He can also use ghost walk to sneak into the enemy fields and then use one or two of his spells to potentially debuff the whole enemy team with his AoE effects.

I think "initiator" should be included in his potential roles in DOTA.

Invoker, who is heavily dependent on items and levels is a horrible support. Especially when he effectively has no spells in the early game. --Fricken Hamster 11:41, 10 March 2012 (UTC)--Fricken Hamster 11:41, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

Yes, I agree too. But those on the page are what valve officially listed as Invoker's roles. Redefining history 12:27, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

His name is Garral?[edit]

Somehow in the forums, he is usually named as "Garral". I'll look for more proof to see if it is true. Denmax 10:03, 14 June 2012 (UTC)

Kaelinvokerdota2 -Invoker's name is acctually Kael - (dota1)

The name "Carl", in Dota 2 Invoker's responses refers to a "leaked" changelog of DotA 6.72, in which "Kael", Invoker's original name, was mistakenly translated as "Carl". Garral is known as an alias

EMP[edit] says EMP damage type is magic when lethal - your description lists it as pure - has this really been changed? -- 17:34, 8 March 2013 (UTC)

In game damage calls Pure, so it's leaves pure. Medok 18:27, 8 March 2013 (UTC)

Starting items ?![edit]

With quas, you do not need health regen items. Starting out, take exort and X3 to last hit your default attack easily. First level take quas and whenever you get hit swap to 3 blue balls to regenerate. This should be plenty of regen for the early lane period -- you are ranged so what little damage you take will be a ranged hero trying to be cute, and there should only be a little of that. Save your money buying healing consumables, in other words. By the time a ranged hero can really be a pest, you can also be quite powerful and should be more than capable of settling the issue or getting away.

His wide range of roles mean a very wide variety of items are useful in mid or late game. I think trying to pick out just a few is limiting, but what is there is a decent "starter" set for a new player I suppose.

Some additional tips... - if you are at your well (died, not possible at startup), pop 3 exort and use the sun-strike nuke on something, regen the mana, and then leave. You can even get lucky and help your team gank if you take 10 seconds to look....

- before using any damage attack, try to be running 3 exort balls.

- he can burn up a LOT of mana in a hurry at any level, no matter how good the gear. Forge spirit is the best damage to mana spell, once you can produce 2 of them, and worth using in any casual encounter, though it falls behind after level 15 or so.

- you can take the first tower in most games by quickly pushing with spirits, cold snap, and your high early game damage. You can drive off a single hero easily and then just let the creeps and your spirit and yourself bust the tower over 4 or 5 creep waves. There are times to do this, and times not to do this, depending on the quality of the other team, how much it will mess up your farming, etc. Just because you can do it, in other words, does not mean its always a good idea. It is, however, a useful trick for beginners, as it can often win a game vs weak opponents much faster than usual.

Dunno if any of this is worthy of the main page, but its here to make what you will of it.

Equipment Tab[edit]

The new set for Invoker(Vestige of the Arsenal Magus) isn't listed there - as of 04.03.2014

Max level Deafening Blast[edit]

Under the deafening blast details, in one part it says it has 12 blasts at max level, then later it says 10.

Also, these sections should probably be combined because in one section it says "at max level" in the other it says "when they are all level 7."

EMP's damage type HP Removal?[edit]

The balance changes from 6.54 say that EMP's damage type got changed from unknown to HP Removal, but it never got changed back to pure damage according to the notes of the following balance patches. Can anbody explain this to me? Psion1C (talk) 13:33, 6 September 2015 (UTC)

It was never hp removal in Dota2. Always pure. Bu3ny (talk) 13:39, 6 September 2015 (UTC)
Also don't add more templates to this page. It already has too many. Bu3ny (talk) 13:43, 6 September 2015 (UTC)
So you mean the colorful style of Quas/Wex/Exort? When should it be used and when not? And what's with the rest of my edit? Psion1C (talk) 13:55, 6 September 2015 (UTC)
Im looking at it now. I put your other edits back in. -- Everyting with this brackets {{}} is a template. You can imagine it like this: When you use a template on a page, the page basically loads the template page. So the more you use of them, the more it loads, so it gets slower, especially when trying to edit. Bu3ny (talk) 13:59, 6 September 2015 (UTC)
Thanks, your feedback and explanations are always very helpful. Psion1C (talk) 14:02, 6 September 2015 (UTC)

Forged Spirit's unit info box[edit]

It should also somehow show the Forged Spirit' max possible stats when having Aghs. Any ideas? Psion1C (talk) 23:53, 29 September 2015 (UTC)

Just replace last values with lvl 8 values. Bu3ny (talk) 00:02, 30 September 2015 (UTC)
Alright, doing so. Psion1C (talk) 00:10, 30 September 2015 (UTC)
What about Quas, Wex, and Exort? How does Invoker's attack damage adapt, right when the projectile is launched or when it hits its target? Psion1C (talk) 00:40, 30 September 2015 (UTC)
Only invoked spells are affected. The QWE stay the same. Bu3ny (talk) 00:42, 30 September 2015 (UTC)
Sorry, maybe I should have created another topic for this, but I mean when you attack an enemy with Invoker and you have invoked Q-Q-Q when the attack projectile is launched and then while it is in the air you invoke E-E-E, does the bonus damage get apllied in this case? Psion1C (talk) 01:08, 30 September 2015 (UTC)
The damage of an attack is determined as the attack begins (at beginning of attack point). This goes for every attack and every attack modifier. Bu3ny (talk) 11:12, 30 September 2015 (UTC)
There is some error in Forge Spirit info box - "Notes - Abilities: Lua error in Module:Ability_ID at line 44: Could not find Cargo data for "Melting Strike"."
Forge Spirit's page has correct link without this error same time. Someone pls fix it.
Can someone fix it pls? 23:23, 14 November 2018 (UTC)

Mana Regen Link not working properly[edit]

I know this is just a small thing, but the "mana regen" link under the Exort notes is not working correctly. It seems to be a problem with the mana page itself, because you are getting redirected to "Mana_regen#Mana_Regeneration" yet not the mana regen section opens directly. Reference to TF2 Spy voiceline[edit]

Both the Spy in TF2 and the invoker have a "You die(d) as you lived..." voice line which is interesting since Dennis Bateman voiced both characters. The invoker line is "You die as you lived: insipid and ignorant." The spy lines are "You died as you lived: running away!" to the scout and "You died as you lived: morbidly obese!" to the heavy. Maybe someone wants to add this info properly to trivia. SwaghettiYolonaise (talk) 00:12, 27 February 2016 (UTC)

Added. ~~ Bu3ny (talk) 02:08, 27 February 2016 (UTC)

Should be E.M.P. instead of EMP.

"DOTA_Tooltip_ability_invoker_emp" "E.M.P."

--Elite stay (talk) 05:05, 4 June 2017 (UTC)

Seems to be the case. I wonder when this got changed. ~~ Bu3ny (talk) 11:20, 4 June 2017 (UTC)
SMW doesn't like dots in titles appearantly. Maybe molldust can help. ~~ Bu3ny (talk) 11:28, 4 June 2017 (UTC)
There is a parameter to name the subobject differently from the ability. Setting "ability = EMP" and "name = E.M.P." might help. --Psion1C (talk) 13:52, 4 June 2017 (UTC)
