Untitled 1[edit]

Adding this information to the page somehow would be rather useful. It's basically all of the AOE abilities that don't affect invisible units, with a larger list of the abilities that do in the comments. --Pigbuster 04:03, 23 December 2012 (UTC)

Untitled 2[edit]

Can anyone please add the invisibility of Techies' Mines as well as TA's Traps and create an extra section for invisibility that is not revealed by true sight (Slark's ult, Smoke of Deceit and Techies' Minefield Sign with aghs upgrade)? Psion1C (talk) 11:13, 5 September 2015 (UTC)

A section for smoke/shadow dance is probably not needed. Just added a note to them that they provide true sight immunity. Added techies mines, psionic traps and observers/sentries. Bu3ny (talk) 13:10, 5 September 2015 (UTC)

Oracle[edit]

The new talent provides invisibility during False Promise, just like the initial spell version. It should be added. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 31.5.99.215 (talk) • (contribs) 7 December 2017 • Please sign your posts with ~~~~

Dark Willow[edit]

Slark is not actually invisible as well, so this cannot really be considered as primary invisibility argument. I found it harder to find out whether Shadow Realm behaves like Hide or Invisibility according to AoE spell interactions. Shadow Realm was listed on neither. I know that there is a short section on the Dark Willow page, but since it explicitely mentions to behave as an invisible unit I think it belongs here. Molldust (talk) 06:47, 17 August 2018 (UTC)

How is Shadow Dance not actual invisibility? It uses all of the invis mechanics, but also grants immunity to True Sight. Same for Smoke of Deceit, mines under Minefield Sign, and Proximity Mines. Shadow Realm does use some invis mechanics, but plainly listing it under "source of invisibility" is just wrong, because it doesn't have the main characteristic of invisibility. ~~ Bu3ny (talk) 09:43, 17 August 2018 (UTC)

Well I can see the position of Slark pretty clearly due to the cloud. To me it makes little difference whether the location is visible by a particle or a tainted hero model. Are there any mechanics that are characteristic to invisibility and not followed by Shadow Realm? Afaik she can get hit by Sacred Arrow and Split Earth, disjoints projectiles, reflects undisjointable spells and is not hit by spells that exclude invisible targets. I'm not sure if she disappears from the minimap and hides Freezing Aura from Shiva's Guard. Molldust (talk) 15:07, 17 August 2018 (UTC)

Can it be proved by bot uses dust on Slark but not on DW? --Elite stay (talk) 08:14, 19 August 2018 (UTC)
I proved myself wrong now with a couple of tests that have a mechanical provability. Behaviour during Shadow Realm that does not apply for Shadow Dance:
  • Dark Willow is hit by Concussive Shot
  • She remains visible on the minimap
  • Shiva's Guard debuff is not hidden (Note that this "feature" is buggy in general. It has issues with multiple Shivas and turning visible/invisible in vision.)
Well, I surrender. Can I note these interactions in an abstract manner on the Dark Willow page? Molldust (talk) 08:56, 25 August 2018 (UTC)
It's a complicated spell. As I said, it does use the invis mechanics part (general spell interactions), but there are several spells which rely on other invis mechanics. For exmple, Heat-Seeking Missile will still be launched for her, but it won't launch for actual invisible units. All this tells us that, all spells which treat her differently than other invisible units rely on the other invis function. It does make sense for some of them (e.g. shiva's debuff hiding), but not for others (concussive shot and tinker rockets). You can find all inconsistent interactions on the devs forum, in the known bugs list under Dark Willow. I'm fine with keeping it how it is right now (with the sepcial mention in this article). ~~ Bu3ny (talk) 11:39, 25 August 2018 (UTC)
