Talk:Base Shop

From Dota 2 Wiki

Several items are missing from this page:

Boots of Travel, Dagon, Power Treads

The following is used here:

where = available_at_base_shop AND NOT is_basic AND game IS NULL

I see the column "game" defined for Items. It seems it is misused in a few instances for pseudo items (Boots of Travel, Dagon, Power Treads) as it is marked as:

Dota 2 Hidden

It is not intuitive that "Dota 2 Hidden" should be in this column. There are also other places in this Wiki where, for example, 3 versions of Power Treads are displayed when really just 1 is sufficient. While looking to see why Power Treads didn't show up on this page, I also noticed a few inconsistencies with the following defined Items:

 Blades of Attack (Pre 6.54)
 Boots of Speed (Pre 6.76)

I'm not sure why these are still in the table, and not marked as "Dota 2 Removed". There is a similar issue with the entries for "River Vial". -- Tommy1TW (talk) 11:10, 3 May 2019 (UTC)

In terms of Boots of Travel, Dagon, Power Treads - there are a few inconsistencies with these items when we moved from Semantic MediaWiki to Cargo. I've corrected the sub-items of those three not inheriting the "available_at_base_shop" attribute. If you could provide the places where 3 versions of Power Treads are displayed that would help with updating those templates. I'll look at your other cases. -- Sanhard (talk) 12:56, 3 May 2019 (UTC)
Regarding the "3" vs "1" for Power Treads: Now that this has been fixed, there are 3 occurrences for Power Treads on this page under the "Upgrades". I think it is a bit misleading to indicate that 3 different Power Treads can be purchased when really you purchase "Power Treads" and not "Power Treads (Strength)", Power Treads (Agility)", or "Power Treads (Intelligence)". And this is of course a bit different from Dagon and Boots of Travel. With those you are actually purchasing different items (Dagon1 Dagon2,...). This could be just a style issue, but I'd prefer Shops Upgrades to display just 1 Power Treads.Tommy1TW (talk) 19:53, 4 May 2019 (UTC)
So, the game is a bit misleading. You can actually purchase the Strength, Agility and Intelligence variants by purchasing Belt of Strength icon.png Belt of Strength / Band of Elvenskin icon.png Band of Elvenskin / Robe of the Magi icon.png Robe of the Magi - the neutral Power Treads is just a placeholder for these recipes. Also, the way the Cargo query is structured, it would be inordinately difficult to exclude Power Treads here as we need the three attribute variants non-hidden for stat calculations elsewhere on the wiki. -- Sanhard (talk) 08:34, 7 May 2019 (UTC)
