How to Handle Attributes[edit]

Any suggestions? I was thinking there could be a page detailing a bit the 3 main attributes and the rest of hero statistics, then link to individual pages expalining them with more detail and lists of items/skills that increase said attributes (eg. in Strength's page there could be all the strength items, a list of strength heroes, and skills such as Morphling's Morph Strength). -ChocolateWaffle 14:07, 16 September 2011 (CDT)

In my opinion, placing the three Stats in one page can avoid confusion for new DotA players. Maybe putting some links to "Category:Items/Agility" or "wiki/Skills_which_scale_on_stats" (for skills such as "Return" and "Ethereal Blast") is sufficient? There's no need to create a new page dedicated to AGI only.--LegendWyn 02:08, 17 September 2011 (CDT)
There's no need to create a new page dedicated to attributes only. You are missing other improtant stats like armor, base health, health regen, mana regen, IAS, overall att grow per level(6.2). Also, whats with that "attributes that define their role in the game" line? Most of the str heroes never meant to be tanks, same goes for int. --XRdR 04:01, 17 September 2011 (CDT)
Most of that text was taken from playdota and it's just a prototype page, that's why I opened this talk. I know there are the other stats like armor, health, mana, mana reg, hp reg and so on, but first I wanted to see what would be better: a single "Stats" page with everything there, or individual pages for each stat, linked to a main page with brief explanations and links to all the minor pages, explaining how it increases upon leveling, how it interacts with others (eg armor vs damage) and what kind of items or skills increase that stat. -ChocolateWaffle 09:39, 17 September 2011 (CDT)
A single "Stats" page. It's not like we have enough info to fill even this one.--XRdR 11:44, 17 September 2011 (CDT)
Well, as I said each Stat has a bunch of items and spells related to it, that's already a nice chunk of info to fit in a single page. You could even make a list sorting heroes from highest base health to lowest and stuff like that. Hell, check this out http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Health that shows you can make an entire page full of info about a single stat. -ChocolateWaffle 14:03, 17 September 2011 (CDT)

Advanced attributes section[edit]

We can expand this page by inserting advanced attribute section listing (or explaining) these hero properties:

I'll do it if it's fine with the admins. We don't have pages for all of these attributes but I know we have for some of them. If a property has a page then just give a short description and/or link to it.

I don't believe these are attributes or advanced attributes. Attributes are strength, agility, and intelligence. The ability "Attribute Bonus" "improves all attributes per point spent", but doesn't improve, say, movement speed or attack range. Items that are "Attribute Boosts" (i.e. found under "Attributes" at the basic shop) improve only strength, agility, and intelligence. I suggest statistics or Hero statistics to refer to the things you have mentioned, which could be inclusive of attributes. --Kroocsiogsi 19:32, 18 November 2011 (UTC)
Notably, I think the first sentence of this article explains it quite well: "Attributes are the main statistics of all Heroes that independently determine most scaling statistics." (Emphasis mine) --Kroocsiogsi
Indeed, these are statistics, not attributes. -Lancey 19:58, 18 November 2011 (UTC)
If we were to create such a page what would be called then, Hero Statistics? That would be confusing.

Talents that improve attribs are missing[edit]

Just about any page that has anything gained by abilities (or items) has a subsection about talents that modify it, however, this is not the case for the Attributes page. Is there a reason? I think Talents should be referenced here. There are some that change the stats on heroes. We don't have time/manpower to do it. - Lemoncake(talk) 01:13, 21 October 2017 (UTC)
It's actually possible to do this automated (see here) through a modified table from Talents/Bonus Table.--Litzsch (talk) 09:01, 21 October 2017 (UTC)
