Treasure Chests are a special type of unit which serve as lootable objects. They are scattered around the entire map, having a chance to spawn at fixed locations. They can only be interacted with by right-clicking them, which causes the chest to either drop a random item (varying based on the zone) or to trigger a trap, which is either a Land Mine or a Sun Strike.

Notes:

  • This ability is not visible in the HUD.
  • The treasure reacts when a hero is executing a move order onto the chest while within 150 radius of it.
  • Drops either a random item based on the zone, a random gold amount based on the zone, or triggers a Land Mine or Sun Strike trap.
  • All of these have equal chances of dropping.
  • Turns the treasure invulnerable, unattackable, unselectable, hides its health bar and its minimap icon, removes its vision and roots it in place.
  • Turns the treasure phased 2.5 seconds after getting opened.

  • The damage of the mine is based on the level of the treasure chest. The chest's level is set based on the zone it spawns it.
  • Traps only damage the 4 players and their units. Enemies are not damaged.
  • The mines always explode 1.6 seconds after being planted, regardless of whether an enemy is nearby or not.

  • A Sun Strike is placed right on top of all 4 heroes upon triggering this trap.
  • The damage of the strike is based on the level of the treasure chest. The chest's level is set based on the zone it spawns it.
  • Traps only damage the 4 players and their units. Enemies are not damaged.
  • The strikes do not move and are set upon cast.
  • The damage is spread evenly among all affected units within the area.
  • This is how much damage Sun Strike deals when hitting a certain amount of units (before reductions).
    • 2 Units: 150/200/250/300/350/400/450/500/550/600
    • 3 Units: 100/133/166/200/233/266/300/333/366/400
    • 4 Units: 75/100/125/150/175/200/225/250/275/300
    • 5 Units: 60/80/100/120/140/160/180/200/220/240
  • Provides 400 radius flying vision at the targeted point for 4 seconds upon cast.
  • The visual effects and the sound during the 1.7 seconds effect delay are visible and audible to everyone.


Stats and drops per zone[edit]

The spawn chance, dropped items, gold value and trap damage is based on which zone the treasure spawned in.

Treasures can only drop one object, so the chances to receive a random item, gold or a trap are equal (unless stated otherwise).
