Lucius Longclaw is the first boss encounter in the Siltbreaker. He spawns at the entry of the Bonemeal Ridge and enters the Crossroads Garrison from the north. He spawns 112 seconds after starting the defend.

Notes:

  • This ability is not visible in the HUD.
  • During Shapeshift, 7 Dire Hounds, 3 Alpha Dire Hounds and 3 Longclaw Skinchangers are summoned instead.
  • Can summon a maximum of 49 units. If the next cast would exceed this amount, only a part of the pack gets summoned so that it does not get exceeded.
    • First, the Dire Hounds are summoned, then the Alpha Dire Hounds and then the Longclaw Skinchangers.
  • The summons are positioned randomly around Lucius within a 300 radius. They always face east on spawn.
  • The summons can drop gold and items and grant experience like other units, using their default drop lists and values.
  • The summons do not have a set duration, but die instantly when Lucius dies.
  • On each cast, the cooldown for the next cast gets reduced by 3 seconds, capped at 20, resulting in 30/27/24/21/20 seconds cooldown for the 1st/2nd/3rd/4th/5th and following casts.
  • Has a cooldown of 15 (13.5/12/10.5/10) seconds cooldown during Shapeshift.

  • During the transformation, Lucius cannot do anything. Cannot be interrupted.
  • The movement speed boost is a haste, meaning Lucius cannot be slowed below the set value.
  • Increases Lucius' model scale to 1.75.
  • Dispelling the transform buff shortens the transformation time, since the shapeshift buff is applied when the transform buff disappears.

  • This ability is not visible in the HUD.
  • Can only target heroes and creep-heroes. The damage and stun can hit any enemy unit, excluding buildings.
  • Although the ability requires targeting a hero, it behaves like a ground targeted spell after the targeting. It does not cancel when the target moves too far away.
  • Upon cast begin, Lucius' facing angle gets locked, so that he cannot turn.
  • 1.14 seconds after cast begin, Lucius charges forward at a speed of 1000 until he hits his target, or until reaching the max cast time, which is in 0.24 seconds.
    • This means he can charge a distance up to 240 range.
    • During this 0.24 seconds, any unit coming within 80 radius of Lucius' hands get damaged and stunned.
    • The damage/stun area is centered on whichever hand Lucius swings for the attack.
    • Lucius has 3 different attack animations, where he swings is right hand, left hand or both hands. They have equal chances of being used.
    • This means 33% of the time the area swings to his right, 33% of the time to his left and 33% of the time towards both direcions.
  • A unit can only be hit once per cast.
  • During Shapeshift, the cast time drops to 1.14 seconds, and the charge starts after 0.84 seconds.
    • This means during Shapeshift, he charges for up to 0.3 seconds, instead of 0.24, increasing the max distance he can charge to 300.
  • Has a cooldown of 0.25 seconds during Shapeshift.

  • Launches a projectile in a straight line, which travels at a speed of 750, reaching max distance in 2 seconds.
  • Each enemy hit by the ball gets ruptured, which causes them to take damage based on the distance they move.
    • Checks the distance the affected unit moved every 0.25 seconds, starting immediately upon cast, resulting in 29 checks.
    • If the unit's position changed between checks, it takes damage based on the distance.
    • If the unit did not move, or moved a distance greater than 1300 between a check, no damage is applied.
    • If the unit is invulnerable as a check occurs, the value is set nil, so that it does not take damage on the next check, regardless of distance.
    • The moved distance as damage value translates to 120 damage per 300 range moved.
    • Multiple instances on the same target do not stack, but refresh the duration instead.
  • Has a cooldown of 4 seconds during Shapeshift.


Behavior[edit]

After spawning behind then north gate and entering the area, Lucius Longpaw walks towards the encampment. It ignores non-hero units and only attacks the heroes and commander Targan. When there is no enemy within 1000 range of Lucius, he walks directly towards target, and attacks him once he gets within 1000 range.

In his regular form Lucius never casts Lua error in Module:Ability_ID at line 44: Could not find Cargo data for "Claw Lunge".. He uses Lua error in Module:Ability_ID at line 44: Could not find Cargo data for "Claw Attack". on the closest enemy hero. On the other side, Lua error in Module:Ability_ID at line 44: Could not find Cargo data for "Rupture Ball". is always launched towards the enemies which are at least 500 range away (excluding Targan). He Lua error in Module:Ability_ID at line 44: Could not find Cargo data for "Summon Wolves". whenever the spell is ready while enemies are within 1000 radius. He stops casting Summon Wolves after reaching the 49 summons limit. When his health drops below 50%, he casts Shapeshift. From now on, he starts casting Lunge Attack as well, in a similar way as Claw Attack, always choosing the closest target.
