Rasmus "MiSeRy" Filipsen is a Danish Dota 2 player, who is currently playing for BlinkPool. Rasmus has had a long and successful career playing for a variety of brands, including big names Team Secret and Cloud9. In 2016, Rasmus was part of the winning team at the Shanghai Major 2016, as well as finishing second with Digital Chaos at The International 2016.
Biography[edit]
MiSeRy started his professional Dota career in 2008. MiSeRy is widely regarded as a versatile player, succeeding in both Support and Core roles at the highest levels of competitive play. He is particularly well known for a roaming and ganking style of play - cultivated in his extensive career in the offlane and fourth position roles.
MiSeRy is highly respected within the scene and considered a Dota veteran. MiSeRy also holds the unique record of having competed in every Valve sponsored Dota 2 event.
Dota 1[edit]
MiSeRy entered the professional Dota scene in 2008 with an all-Danish team called "Mom equals toilet", abbreviated "Met". The other players on the team were Smiske, AngeL, miGGel, Danishpride and Donald-Duck.[1] They finished high in a number of tournaments, including a 4th place at DreamHack Winter 2008, 2nd place in Farm4Fame #3,[2] and a 4th place in MYM PriDe #10.[3] Despite being quite infamous for flaming in their games, Met were nominated for a 2008 GosuAward in the category Team of the Year.[4] Met were picked up by a sponsor in March 2009 and became "Roskilde Ravens".[5]
Dota 2[edit]
MeetYourMakers[edit]
MiSeRy transitioned into Dota 2 together with his team MeetYourMakers to play in The International 2011. They finished 4th and took home $80,000 in prize money. Only a few days later the team decided to disband.[6] MiSeRy then continued his career in Evil Geniuses as they picked up a Dota 2 team in October 2011.[7] The team was sent to China to practice for two months.
Counter Logic Gaming[edit]
In May 2012 he left Evil Geniuses to join Counter Logic Gaming, where he would reunite with former EG teammate Pajkatt.[8]
LGD Gaming.int[edit]
On October 15, 2012, it was announced that he would be joining LGD Gaming International, along with Brax, Pajkatt, 1437, and God.[9] Upon joining the team MiSeRy would take on a supporting role, instead of playing as number 2 which he did on Counter Logic Gaming. MiSeRy left the team in December 2013.
Team Dog/Mousesports[edit]
MiSeRy formed Team Dog in February 2014 with Pajkatt, DeMoN, smulgullig, and Fogged. After some roster changes, the team was picked up by mousesports in May 2014.[10]
Team Secret[edit]
MiSeRy joined Team Secret as a stand-in in December 2014 to replace Simbaaa.[11] He then left shortly before Dota 2 Asia Championship 2015.
Cloud9[edit]
Just before DAC 2015, MiSeRy was picked up by Cloud9 during the "Great Western Re-shuffle".[12] After a disappointing finish at The International 2015, Cloud9 disbanded.[13]
Team Secret[edit]
After the disband of Cloud9 MiSeRy, together with his former teammate EternaLEnVy, joined Team Secret. On Team Secret, MiSeRy played the offlane instead of his usual support role. Shortly after winning the Shanghai Major 2016, MiSeRy and w33 got kicked from the team.
Digital Chaos[edit]
After being kicked from Team Secret, MiSeRy and w33 created a new Digital Chaos squad.[14] MiSeRy switched back to support and became the teams captain. They finished second at The International 2016 after losing to Wings Gaming in the grand finals. In April 2017, the entire squad left the organization Digital Chaos.[15]
Thunderbirds[edit]
The former Digital Chaos squad formed Thunderbirds.[15]
Return to Evil Geniuses[edit]
On December 20, 2017, Evil Geniuses on its official site announced MiSeRy had rejoined the team as support. This was the second time MiSeRy joined Evil Geniuses, after he had played with the team between 2011-2012.[16]
