Hiding (also referred to as banishing) a unit causes it to temporarily disappear. It renders the unit unable to move, attack, cast spells and use items. All hiding spells also turn the affected unit invulnerable. Hidden units still gain experience and gold.

While hidden, a unit cannot be affected by any spell (with very few exceptions). For example, a Meat Hook would just fly through and possibly hit a unit behind the hidden unit.

  Brewmaster is moved along with Earth, if Earth dies, along with Storm, and if Storm dies too, along with Fire. Brewmaster dies if all 3 spirits are killed.

  Hides Phantom Lancer and all his illusions within 900 range upon cast.
• Phoenix - Supernova

  Hides Phoenix (and the allied hero when upgraded with Aghanim's Scepter) for the duration or until the sun is destroyed.
• Puck - Phase Shift
  
  Duration: 0.75/1.5/2.25/3.25
  Channeled, so it can be manually canceled.
• Riki - Tricks of the Trade
  
  Duration: 2 ( 3)
  Channeled, so it can be manually canceled.
• Shadow Demon - Disruption
  
  Duration: 2.75
  Last targeted enemy hero can still be fully affected by Shadow Poison and and damaged by Demonic Purge.
• Tusk - Snowball
  
  Max Duration: 6
  Hides Tusk and any unit which gets inside the Snowball until the snowball reaches the target or expires.
• Void Spirit - Dissimilate
