Sand King burrows into the ground and tunnels forward, damaging, pushing back and stunning enemy units above him as he resurfaces. Disjoints projectiles. Applies Desert Sting on enemies hit.

Modifiers
Buff Burrowstrike: Dispellable with death only.
Debuff Impale: Dispellable with strong dispels.
Debuff Burrowstrike Knockback: Dispellable with strong dispels.
Crixalis often lies in wait, burrowing under the surface to ambush his adversaries.

Notes:

  • Sand King is invulnerable during Burrowstrike's short duration.


Sand Storm

Sand King creates a fearsome sandstorm which grows larger and stronger over time, damaging enemy units while hiding him from vision. The invisibility remains for 1.5 seconds after the sandstorm ends. Enemies will be pushed in a circular motion by the sandstorm's powerful winds.

Some say Crixalis is a mirage; his carapace appearing then vanishing between the whirling <s>sands of the Scintillant Waste</s> sounds of Darude - Sandstorm.

Notes:

  • On cast, has a 30% chance of replacing the regular sound effect with Darude - Sandstorm while channeling, which is audible to everyone around Sand King.

Sand King's pincers leave a strong impression on their recipients, causing them to tremble in fear of being struck again. Taking damage while in this state will cause the earth to briefly quake, damaging and slowing all nearby enemies of Sand King. Creeps take more damage.

An injection from Crixalis makes one brittle and as dry as the arid wastes, subject to implosive demise.

Notes:

  • Any damage taken by the target adds a 1 slow stack, adding 2% slow to the target and refreshing the slow duration.
  • The target loses the slow debuff if it does not receive any damage during the slow duration.
  • Can affect a target at most 2 times per second.
  • Can be triggered by Damage Over Time effects.
  • Works with Sandstorm as the damage applies the slow.

After channeling for up to 4 seconds, Sand King sends a disturbance into the earth, causing it to shudder violently. All enemies caught within range will take damage and become slowed. Each subsequent pulse increases the radius of damage dealt. Epicenter launches a larger amount of pulses if channeled for a longer time.

Minimum Pulse Radius: 650
Cooldown: 120/110/100 (With Aghanim's: 80)
Mana: 175/225/275
Aghanim's upgrade: Decreases cooldown and increases number of pulses. Causes all enemies in a very large area to be pulled towards Sand King.
Modifiers
Buff Epicenter: Dispellable with death only.
Debuff Epicenter Slow: Dispellable with any dispel.
Many an explorer was lost to <s>the quicksands of the Scintillant Waste</s> Darude - Sandstorm.

Notes:

  • When interrupted during the channeling, the spell goes off, accounting for the duration channeled.
  • Each pulse increases damage radius by 25:
    • Radius for each pulse are as follows: 650/675/700/725/750/775/800/825/850/875/900/925/950/975/1000/1025/1050/1075/1100/1125 (Upgradable by Aghanim's Scepter. 1150/1175/1200/1225)
  • Plays Darude - Sandstorm during channeling.
  • Plays Darude - Sandstorm during pulses only if it was channeled for 4 seconds.
