Modifiers [?]
modifier_desolator_buff

  • Successive attacks with Desolator do not stack the debuff, but refresh the duration instead.
  • The attacks first apply the debuff, then their own damage.
  • Replaces the projectile particle of Ranged ranged heroes with a red projectile.
  • Does not stack with the armor reduction of Blight Stone icon Lesser Corruption.
    • If both debuffs are present, Blight Stone's debuff does not reduce armor.

Soul Stealer
Partially usable by illusions.
Ability
Passive
Affects
Self
Desolator gains +2 damage every time an enemy hero dies while affected by Corruption, to a maximum of 30.
Max Charges: 30
Charges per Kill: 2
Attack Damage Bonus per Charge: 1
Partially usable by illusions.
Illusion Notes:
Illusions cannot place the debuff, so they cannot gain stacks either.
Illusions copy the stack count upon creation.

  • When having multiple Desolators in the active inventory, only the one acquired first gains charges.
  • Grant charges to the last player who refreshed the debuff in case of Soul Stealer debuffs applied by multiple players.
    • Desolator does not need to be in the inventory to gain charges.
    • The number of charges is bound to the item, not the player. Selling and repurchasing the item does not carry over the charges.
  • The number of current charges is visible on the item icon.

Others[]

  • Arc Warden minimap icon Arc Warden, his Tempest Double icon Tempest Double clone, and his Manta Style icon Manta Style Illusions are able to push buildings much more quickly, as well as enemy heroes with the benefit of Desolator's armor reduction.
  • Bounty Hunter minimap icon Bounty Hunter sometimes buys a Desolator to land one hard hit on enemies with Jinada icon Jinada, debuffing them in teamfights before retreating.
  • Juggernaut minimap icon Juggernaut sometimes opts for a Desolator to reduce an opponents armor before using Omnislash icon Omnislash.
  • Mars minimap icon Mars can use Desolator to reduce the armor of every unit hit by God's Rebuke icon God's Rebuke and increase its damage output.
  • Nature's Prophet minimap icon Nature's Prophet's low damage benefits from Desolator's armor reduction.
  • Tusk minimap icon Tusk hits exceptionally hard with Walrus Punch icon Walrus PUNCH! after Desolator's armor reduction.
  • Ursa minimap icon Ursa's damage through Fury Swipes icon Fury Swipes is greatly increased with Desolator's armor reduction.

Generally heroes who already have armor reduction abilities will benefit from the extra armor reduction of Corruption:

Tips[]

  • Desolator icon Corruption works against buildings, making it a great pushing tool. Split-pushing heroes can benefit a lot from it, allowing them to take towers down much quicker.
  • The debuff lasts quite long, so sometimes it is better to get the debuff on multiple enemies, instead of focusing only one target in team fights.
