  • Venomancer's damage over time can also force Chen to use Hand of God prematurely, potentially wasting chance to save his allies during teamfight.

  • Abaddon's Aphotic Shield icon.png Aphotic Shield can nullify Chen's combo, while clearing Chen's creeps simultaneously.

  • Similar to Venomancer, only Jakiro's damage over time is stronger, and Chen cannot often save allies with Hand of God from his damage over time.
  • Macropyre icon.png Macropyre can also disrupt Chen's jungling work.

  • Sand King can easily clear Chen's creeps with Sand Storm icon.png Sand Storm, Burrowstrike icon.png Burrowstrike and Epicenter icon.png Epicenter.
  • Because Test of Faith (Teleport) has a delay before it teleports hero, Sand King can easily stop this with Burrowstrike icon.png Burrowstrike.
  • Chen has nothing to detect Sand King when he is channeling Sand Storm icon.png Sand Storm.

  • The bonus health granted by Holy Persuasion is an actual disadvantage for Chen, as it increases Death Pact's bonuses.
  • With Orchid Malevolence icon.png Orchid Malevolence or Bloodthorn icon.png Bloodthorn, Strafe icon.png Strafe, and Searing Arrows icon.png Searing Arrows, Clinkz can silence Chen and destroy him before he can react.

  • Firestorm icon.png Firestorm will clear easily Chen's creeps.

  • Diffusal Blade 1 icon.png Diffusal Blade can dispel Test of Faith (Teleport), preventing Chen from saving allies. The mana burn can also hinder Chen's spell-casting ability.
  • Shiva's Guard icon.png Shiva's Guard will greatly hinder the converted creeps' damage output, while the slow from Arctic Blast will make Chen and his creeps easy targets.
  • Dagon 1 icon.png Dagon's Burst damage can quickly finish off Chen's teammates before he is able to use Hand of God.
  • Battle Fury icon.png Battle Fury allows melee heroes to destroy converted creeps.
  • Maelstrom icon.png Maelstrom and Mjollnir icon.png Mjollnir allows ranged heroes to destroy converted creeps.

  • Due to Clockwerk's slow damage output, Chen can often save a trapped enemy with Hand of God.

Others[edit]

  • Chen is good against heroes with no stun and escape abilities (such as Bloodseeker) as he can easily gank lanes from jungle early game and score kills using Petinence.
  • Chen is best picked against teams that lack AoE damage spells as he can send his controlled units to push lanes without putting himself at risk (he can also use Test of Faith to call back creeps from danger).
