Forces a unit to accept punishment for their sins, causing them to move slower and accept more damage from attacks or spells.

Cooldown: 14
Notes: Amplifies damage by re-dealing the amount as physical damage.
Test of Faith icon.png Test of Faith:
If cast on enemy, will deal variable damage based on the unit's faith. If cast on allied hero, it will teleport him to safety. Instantly teleports Chen's persuaded units to safety.
Cast range: 600
Minimum damage: 50/100/150/200
Maximum damage: 75/150/225/300
Teleport delay: 6/5/4/3
Mana cost: 140
Cooldown: 30
Notes: The damage is randomly chosen between the minimum and maximum damage. Can only teleport allied heroes or own units. Cannot target self.

Takes control of a target enemy unit. Unit gains 50% magic resistance. If Chen dies, all his persuaded units also die.

Perdition:
Chen's ranged attacks are punishing when he reinforces them with a holy wrath. While active, adds damage based on Chen's maximum health.
Cast range: 600
Max health as damage: 3%/5%/7%/9%
Mana cost: 60
Cooldown: 0
Notes: Is an active unique attack modifier. Can be used against buildings as well.
Divine Intervention:
Calls upon the mercy and wrath of Hextar, the god of war. The next friendly hero to die will be resurrected with half hit points and mana soon thereafter. The target also becomes invulnerable for a short duration.
Reincarnation delay: 3
Invulnerability duration: 5
Mana cost: 200/300/400
Cooldown: 300/240/180
Notes: When cast, all allied heroes and Chen himself get. The first one of them who dies gets resurrected. Does not trigger when aegis reincarnates the hero already.

December 17, 2014 Patch Update 2

  • Updated Chen Chen's texture.
  • Fixed a case where casting an ability to control a unit (ie. Chen Chen's Holy Persuasion icon.png Holy Persuasion), then querying the unit before the ability fired would not end up with the unit in a selected state and the abilities would not be usable.
  • Fixed Holy Persuasion icon.png Holy Persuasion interrupting allied channeling spells on cast (rather than upon tping).
  • New Chen Chen spell icons.
  • Added in missing Chen Chen Aghanim's Scepter icon.png Aghanim's Scepter tooltip.
  • Updated Chen Chen's visuals.
  • Chen Chen will only immediately teleport units he controls.
  • Fixed Neutrals not spawning correctly after one of the pack had been dominated away. This happened constantly while playing Chen Chen and prevented the camp from coming back until my poor unit got killed.
  • Dominated units no longer have phased collision. Affects Chen Chen, Enchantress Enchantress, and Helm of the Dominator icon.png Helm of the Dominator.
  • Abilities that dominate creeps clear out the players that used to be able to control them. This prevents Chen Chen and Enchantress Enchantress from being able to control the same creeps.
  • Fixed double-kill credit due to Chen Chen's Penitence.
  • Dominating another creep and he's already pushed it to the limit, the oldest dominated creep will now be killed.
  • Fixed Holy Persuasion icon.png Holy Persuasion to not be self-castable.
  • Holy Persuasion icon.png Holy Persuasion-dominated creeps and Enchantress Enchantress' Enchant icon.png Enchant-dominated creeps now have phased collision, just like units dominated with Helm of the Dominator icon.png Helm of the Dominator.
  • Hand of God icon.png Hand of God to work on all of his controlled units.
  • He will only kill his own units when trying to dominate more only if he is currently the Owner of the unit
