- There are two outposts located on the map, one on each side lane, approximately where the side lanes of the Radiant and Dire meet. [?]
- Outposts start out as neutral buildings. Right Click an Outpost begins channeling. When the channel successful, the team gains control over the outpost. The channeling time gets shorter the more allies channeling it.
- Once captured, the capturing team gains ExperienceXP initially upon capturing it, and then in 5-minute intervals on the game clock.
- The experience is based on the game time, starting at 0 and increasing by 1XP every 2.4 seconds or 25XP/min.
- Captured outposts provide 1400 radius flying vision and 500 radius True Sight around them.
- Captured outposts can be teleported to. Town Portal Scroll take 3 seconds longer to channel, plus the extra channel time for previous recent teleports to the building.
- Outposts cannot be captured before the 10th minute mark. It takes 6/3/2/1.5/1.2 seconds for 1/2/3/4/5 heroes to capture it. Only heroes and clones may capture it.
- Outposts are indestructible. Attacking them causes no damage.
- Increased Tower (Tier 3) and Tower (Tier 4) attack damage from 142-162 to 170-180.
