Leshrac the Tormented Soul is a ranged intelligence hero who is known for his ability to put out tremendous amounts of area magical damage. His array of spells makes him a dangerous foe to stand around, as he can disable and nuke down anyone who dares to stand against him. Split Earth is an area stun that, after a delay, will stun all enemies in its radius while dealing damage. Diabolic Edict is a damage-over-time spell that deals physical damage, corroding all enemies near Leshrac. Unlike most other spells, it can also affect buildings, making Leshrac a very powerful tower killer who can push very effectively. Lightning Storm is a targeted nuke that damages and slows enemies as it jumps from foe to foe, easily clearing away creeps. His ultimate, Pulse Nova, deals magical damage in an area around Leshrac while it is active, making short work of nearby enemies. Few can withstand Leshrac's damage output, as all of his spells combined allow him to scour his foes from the battlefield.
Bio
Gameplay
Leshrac's pushing power is notable. Four levels of Diabolic Edict will nearly destroy a tower with one cast of the spell and is the main source of Leshrac's early-mid game power - every time the enemy team is weakened, he can destroy or cripple a tower to win his team map control and gold.
Ability builds for Leshrac vary greatly depending on the situation. Generally, maxing Lightning Storm is smart if the enemy has many short range burst damage abilities since Lightning Storm has relatively long range. With proper timing, Leshrac can hit multiple creeps while damaging enemy heroes; it is a great ability for lane control. Diabolic Edict is maxed for pushing, roaming, and/or ganking. Aside from taking towers, it is also a great ability for killing isolated heroes. With solo lane experience, Leshrac can take on and kill almost any enemy hero that tries to fight him one on one early in the game with Diabolic Edict. Even as a support, Leshrac's Edict can deal significant damage to an isolated enemy. Pulse Nova has a high mana cost but is sustainable if Arcane boots are purchased as Leshrac reaches level 6. Pulse Nova is extremely powerful but requires Leshrac to stay in close proximity to deal damage; it is wise to consider maxing Leshrac's other abilities first if the enemy has many heroes that can quickly punish Leshrac for positioning himself too closely to them.
Item choices for Leshrac should help toughen him up, as well as expand his Mana Pool to fuel Pulse Nova; Blood Stone and Shiva's Guard both fulfill this role nicely. As with any Intelligence hero, Scythe of Vyse is an excellent item for Leshrac and will allow you to land your spells with impunity. Once he has sufficient mana regen and defense, an Octarine Core can give him massive sustain in drawn-out fights. An item to help you escape from danger is also recommended, such as Force Staff, Ghost Scepter, or Eul's Scepter of Divinity. Black King Bar allows Leshrac to wreak havoc on supporting enemy heroes since he is immune to magical burst damage and most stuns/disables when Black King Bar is activated. It is recommended to upgrade his Boots of Speed into Arcane Boots or Boots of Travel if the game is going well in Leshrac's favor.
Abilities
- Split Earth destroys trees within the affected radius.
- Has no visual or audio indicator during the effect.
- The radius is always centered at Leshrac's current position, not at the cast location.
- Randomly selects nearby valid units for each explosion. There are no priorities.
- Fully affects invisible units and units in the Fog of War.
- When no valid targets are nearby, the explosions randomly appear within a square with 500 side length. These random explosions deal no damage.
- Creates explosions in 0.25 ( 0.11) second intervals, starting immediately as the spell is cast, resulting in 40 ( 90) explosions.
- Buildings take 12.6/25.2/37.8/50.4 damage per explosion.
- Can deal up to 360/720/1080/1440 ( 810/1620/2430/3240) damage to a single unit, or 504/1008/1512/2016 ( 1134/2268/3402/4536) damage to a single building (before reductions).
- When Leshrac dies, the explosions still occur at his location.
- The lightning hits the initial target after the 0.25 second effect delay and then jumps to other targets in 0.25 second intervals, so hitting all targets takes 2/2.25/2.5/2.75 seconds.
- Because of the effect delay, the initial lightning can be avoided with spell immunity, invulnerability or becoming hidden. However, this does not prevent it from jumping.
- Does not bounce on invisible units, or units in the Fog of War.
- Can never hit the same unit twice per cast.
- All jumps together can deal up to 200/600/1200/2000 damage (before reductions).
- The Lightning Storm buff is a hidden buff required for the lightning to jump.
- The toggling of Pulse Nova is not registered as a spell cast and thus does not proc any on-cast effects.
- Pulse Nova does not interrupt Leshrac's channeling spells upon toggling.
- Deals damage in 1 second intervals, starting immediately upon toggling the spell on.
- Drains mana in the same intervals, so activating it basically costs 90/130/170 mana.
- However, when having less than 90/130/170 mana and toggling it on, it will still deal 1 damage instance and then toggle itself off.
- Fully affects invisible units and units in the Fog of War.
- When having Aghanim's Scepter, a single bolt of Lightning Storm strikes a random unit within the given radius.
- Once a strike happens, the effect has to recharge for 1.75 seconds. This recharge time cannot be altered.

Trivia
- The name Leshrac comes from a Planeswalker from the Magic: the Gathering multiverse[1].
- Diabolic Edict is the name of an iconic black card in that game; much like the Dota 2 spell, the Magic card was more effective when there were fewer targets, as your opponent got to choose which target got hit.
